Football’s Finest Coaching – Behaviour Policy

At Football’s Finest Coaching, we want every child to enjoy football in a safe, positive, and supportive environment where they can grow in skill, confidence, and teamwork.

This Behaviour Policy explains what we expect from our players and how we handle situations where behaviour needs to improve. We aim to deal with things fairly, consistently, and with kindness, working together with parents and carers to help every child get the most out of their time with us.

Our Approach

We understand that children learn and develop in different ways. Mistakes happen — and that’s okay — but we also want to help players learn from them. Our steps for managing behaviour give plenty of opportunity for children to make positive changes, but may be adapted if something more serious happens.

Step 1 – Friendly Reminder

If a player’s behaviour isn’t quite what we expect, a coach will give them a gentle reminder of our Code of Conduct. This is simply a nudge to help them reflect, reset, and get back to enjoying the session.

Step 2 – Chat with Parents/Carers

If the behaviour continues or if something more serious happens, we’ll have a quick chat with the parent or carer to explain what’s going on. This isn’t about getting anyone in trouble — it’s about working together so your child can make better choices next time.

Sometimes, if it’s in the best interest of the group, the coach may ask the player to finish the session early. No refund would be given for missed time.

Step 3 – Behaviour Review Period

If we’re still seeing the same issues, your child may enter a behaviour review period. This is a short phase where we keep a closer eye on how they’re doing across all sessions. We’ll keep parents informed and make it clear that this is a final chance to show positive engagement. As before, leaving a session early may be required if necessary, and no refund would be given for missed time.

Step 4 – Temporary Break

If behaviour doesn’t improve, we may suggest a three-month break from all Football’s Finest Coaching activities. This isn’t a punishment — it’s time to pause, reflect, and come back with a fresh start. During this period, we won’t be able to take any bookings for that player.

Step 5 – Return with Conditions

When the three months are up, we’d love to welcome your child back for a four-week trial period. We’ll support them in making a positive return, but if any serious behaviour issues happen during this time, we may need to remove them from all Football’s Finest Coaching programmes permanently.

In these cases, no refunds will be issued for payments already made.

A Few Key Things to Remember

  • This policy covers behaviour both on and off the pitch, and includes the conduct of parents/carers towards our staff and other families.
  • Unacceptable behaviour can include: bullying, aggression, constant disruption, verbal abuse, disrespect towards staff or players, or anything that goes against our values.
  • Our aim is always to give clear boundaries, fair chances, and plenty of support so children can learn and grow.
  • In rare cases of extremely serious behaviour, Football’s Finest Coaching may skip some or all steps and make the decision to remove a player immediately. No refunds will be given in these situations.
